Annual Giving

There are two categories of annual giving: unrestricted and restricted.

Unrestricted Gifts

Dean's Excellence Fund

Unrestricted gifts are those without specification as to how they should be used. As a result,  they provide the dean of the college with the flexibility to address unmet or unexpected financial needs.

Each fiscal year, the E. J. Ourso College of Business recognizes all gifts to the Dean’s Excellence Fund as gifts to the Annual Fund.  Leadership gifts of $1,000 or more to the Dean’s Excellence Fund qualify you for membership in the Dean’s Circle.

Restricted Gifts

A restricted gift is one in which the donor designates its use to support a particular purpose or project. Restricted gifts are not included in the Annual Fund and do not qualify you for membership in the Dean’s Circle. Donors who make restricted annual gifts are also encouraged to consider a gift to the Dean’s Excellence Fund.

Student Support

The E. J. Ourso College of Business needs strong scholarship and fellowship programs to attract and retain the best and brightest students from Louisiana and beyond. Scholarships and fellowships support undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students by helping to supplement the cost of tuition, fees, books, and other costs associated with attending LSU.

Faculty Support

A university is defined by the quality of its faculty, and no asset is more critical to its students. Private support for faculty, especially in the form of endowments for chairs and professorships, is vital to LSU. Chairs and professorships are highly valuable means of retaining some of the very best faculty and for recruiting new talent to the E. J. Ourso College of Business.

Department, Center, and Institute Support

Contributions can be designated to a specific department, center, or institute in the E. J. Ourso College. Gifts to each unit’s development fund are unrestricted within the unit. For the establishment of permanent support, donors may want to consider an endowed gift to the department, center, and institute of choice.
